Dear Partners in Ministry,                                                              

     Our God is awesome and knows all our needs before we know we have them.  Our God is the owner of the cattle on a thousand hills.  We praise His Holy Name.  These thoughts are always in our mind and we are amazed at how the Lord provides for our needs as a family and our needs as a ministry. This past month we have had to dwell on these thoughts and take them further into our hearts as the bills continue to come in and the donations are the lowest ever.  For now the ministry bills are all paid and we praise the Lord for this.  We cannot help wonder about the bills coming in tomorrow.  Once again we turn to God’s people and ask for your help to keep this ministry reaching out into the community with the gospel message.  There are countless children and youth needing to know Jesus. Something as small as the buses driving through the neighborhoods to pick up children is a testimony of God’s love.

    A few weeks ago a 19 year old boy came to visit us at the center. He attended programs at COC for many years and has gotten into trouble along the way.  He stopped by to thank Mr. John & Mrs. Brenda for teaching him about Jesus and how to make something of himself.   He is going to graduate High School this year and holds down a job at a fast food restaurant.  It did our hearts good to hug this young man and know that Jesus is making a difference in his life when the odds are against him.

   This past week the center was able to send home bags of groceries to every family that attends COC.  It is through a grant from America’s Second Harvest of Tampa Bay that we were able to do this.  In these tough economic times the groceries are one way we can share God’s love with the families we serve.

    We are thrilled to report that we have gained the support of two new churches in the past month.  Brenda and Paul Martin have made visits to two different Lutheran Women Mission Leagues and were asked to share about COC.  Brenda also spoke to the ladies at First Christian Church in Seminole and was “showered” with new underwear, socks and shirts for the center’s “clothes closet”.  Thank you to all these ladies who truly have a heart for ministry to the “least of these”.  The clothes closet is always a busy place providing clothing to the many children at COC.  These new items are always in demand.

    Please remember the center, the children, their families and staff in your prayers.  We ask for special prayer for these people with physical needs, Carol, Jim, Ida, Eileen, Ed, Wendy, Richard, Dick, Betty, Sharen, Elise (Brenda’s 10 year old, niece with leukemia-she is responding well to chemo but has ups & downs.)  Praise report: Jackson Fox McConnell-our newest grandbaby arrived on February 7^th, strong & healthy!
